WHAT TO EXPECT

  • 6 hours of play, with breaks for lunch and socializing

  • Professional game masters, ready for all levels of experience

  • Wintry adventures for the wintry season

  • Recommended for ages 9 to 16

MORE DETAILS:

The Dungeons & Dragons Winter Break Camp is open to youth players of ALL experience levels, and we welcome adventurers of any and all genders and identities!

Because of the intensive nature of the experience, this is intended for players aged 9-16.

All our instructors and game masters have experience in the hobby and have passed background checks. We are ready to foster a safe, welcoming environment for ALL!

Many players might want to know whether we will be playing with 2024 or 2014 rules. For this event, players can expect 2014 rules. This is for two reasons:

  1. There are SO many easy-to-find resources for people to find at low or no cost for the 2014 rules. We don't want to put pressure on young players to buy the newest rules for our events.

  2. The 2024 rules have just come out, and we cannot promise that all players (or Game Masters) would be ready to use those rules as fluently as the 2014 rules.

  • Any official race/species/folk

  • Any official class

  • New players are encouraged to pick from the Player’s Handbook for simplicity

  • Stats should be determined via “standard array” or “point buy” (NOT rolled, for the purpose of equity)

  • Use the starting equipment guidelines based on background

  • Any changes/customizations will be approved on case-by-case basis by the GM

  • Pre-generated character sheets will be available , especially if creating a character is feeling too intimidating for whatever reason

  • Character sheets can be physical or digital (using a device you provide)

If your player wants/needs guidance, send an email to hunter@mercuryadventureclub.com and we might be able to schedule a virtual meeting prior to camp. GMs will be ready to help participants as they arrive on the day of the Camp, as well.

**Badwolf Adventure Studios and Mercury Adventure Club are non-religious LLCs, and are not affiliated with Christ the King Lutheran Church. However, they have welcomed D&D hobbyists many times; they welcome the gaming community, but also serve the greater community through outreach and support. We are happy that CTK has opened their doors to our program.
